The CEO of BC Ferries said it could have been a lot worse. The Queen of the North sank March 22nd -- 135 kilometers southeast of Prince Rupert, BC. David Hahn praised the crew for the safe evacuation of all but two of the 101 passengers. (Shirley Rosette, and her common-law husband, Gerald Foisy, are believed to have gone down with the ferry after it struck Gil Island.)
