Just three months after winning a minority government, the Conservatives dangled broad tax cuts in front of Canadians. In his first federal budget, Finance Minister Jim Flaherty announced the GST would be cut as of July 1st. (Flaherty also announced the Conservatives would claw back some of the income tax cuts made by the previous Liberal government.)
