Thousands of police officers from across North America gathered in Windsor, Ontario on May 15th for the funeral of slain police Constable John Atkinson. He was gunned down while approaching two drug suspects. Premier Dalton McGuinty, who delivered the eulogy, called Atkinson a hero. (Atkinson's casket was escorted into the building by a police honor guard.)
