Seventeen suspects, including five under the age of 18, were arrested June 2nd in Toronto and nearby Mississauga on charges of plotting to attack targets in Ontario. It was the biggest ever terrorism-related raid in Canada. RCMP Assistant Commissioner Mike McDonell (mack-duhn-NELL') announced the results of a combined forces raid at a news conference. (In addition to the arrests, police recovered three tones of ammonium nitrate, a fertilizer commonly used in the making of explosives.)
