Five people were crushed to death September 30th when a concrete overpass collapsed on their vehicles in Laval, Quebec. Quebec Provincial Police spokeswoman Chantal Mackels described what happened. (Firefighters and rescue workers had to use two cranes and other heavy machinery to break up the concrete. The collapsed roadway was broken up into as many as 18 huge slabs so searchers could get to the flattened cars.)
