Peter MacKay denied he referred to his former girlfriend -- Liberal MP Belinda Stronach -- as a dog. The federal foreign affairs minister said he made no such comment in the House of Commons on October 19th. A handful of Liberal MP's claimed they heard the Conservative minister make the comment in reference to Stronach. But MacKay angrily denied the charge. (The Liberals said MacKay made the comment while the government was being questioned about its new Clean Air Plan. A Liberal jokingly asked MacKay if he cared about the impact of pollution on his dog. MacKay reportedly motioned toward Stronach's vacant seat and replied, "You already have her.")
