Health authorities issued a boil water alert for the entire Vancouver region -- affecting about two million people -- after a fierce storm on November 15th stirred up water supplies. Millions were forced out of their homes in West Vancouver because of damaged properties and the threat of falling trees caused by the storm. City official Patricia Leslie kept residents up to date on the situation. (The boil-water advisory was lifted November 27th.)
