Doctors at BC Women's Hospital in Vancouver faced special challenges when they were faced with the births of Canada's first set of sextuplets. The babies were born January 7th -- only 25 weeks into the mother's pregnancy. The parents of the babies, who are Jehovah's Witnesses, did not want any details released. But Dr. Brian Lupton of the hospital said the babies, weighing 1.8 pounds each, would need special care. (The birth of the six babies was hailed as miraculous, but two of the premature infants died a short time later.)
