Jean Charest's Liberals were reduced to 48 seats from 72 in the March 26th Quebec Election. For a while it looked like Charest might not even win his own seat -- but he surged ahead when the last of the polls were counted. Charest said the voters sent a message. (The Action Democratique Party was the big winner, going from five seats to 41 -- upending the Parti Quebecois as official Opposition.)
