Military officials confirmed six Canadian soldiers were killed April 8th by a roadside bomb blast in Afghanistan. Colonel Mike Cessford told a news conference the soldiers were in a moving vehicle at the time. (It was the worst single-day toll for the Canadian Forces in Afghanistan. Five of the dead soldiers were from Canadian Forces Base Gagetown in New Brunswick.)
