July 4th was a deadly day for Canadian soldiers in Afghanistan. Six Canadian lives were lost to the blast of a roadside bomb. An Afghan interpreter was also killed in the explosion. Brigadier General Tim Grant called the bombing the work of terrorists. (The soldiers were due to end their tour of duty in Afghanistan at the end of the month.)
