On September 12th, Ottawa announced a 96 million dollar compensation package for veterans exposed to dioxin-contaminated herbicides at New Brunswick's CFB Gagetown. Veterans like John Chisholm said it had been a long, hard fight. (The annual spray programs at the base included US military tests of Agent Orange and other combat defoliants over several days in 1966 and 1967.)
