Preview Clip

Bob Gainey finally broke his silence. On November 27th, he told The Canadian Press he was having a tough time accepting that little could've been done to prevent his daughter's death at sea. Laura Gainey was swept off the Nova Scotia-based tall ship Picton Castle during a gale off Cape Cod last December. Her father, who was also the GM of the NHL's Montreal Canadiens, said his grief shifted to anger when a Cook Islands board of inquiry concluded she was simply an "unlucky victim.'" (Gainey called the board's work "ugly" and "dishonest" and was stunned by its rejection of nearly all of the serious safety concerns raised in an earlier probe. The author of the Cook Islands final report, Garth Broadhead, says he stands by the decision.)
