Canadian jazz great Oscar Peterson died at his home in Mississauga, west of Toronto, at age 82. Mississauga Mayor Hazel McCallion said she knew Peterson for 15 years and often went to his house for dinner. She was asked what that was like. (Peterson died at age 82 of kidney failure. He recorded almost 200 albums and played alongside the greats of the jazz world, including Louis Armstrong, Count Basie and Nat King Cole.)
