Toronto District School Board trustees narrowly approved a proposal January 29th for Canada's first black-focused public school. But Ontario's education minister did not agree with the decision. Kathleen Wynne said instead of creating a black-focused school, city education officials should be showing the world that different races can live together in harmony. (A superintendent with the school board said community input would be sought before the facility opened in 2009.)
