BC introduced a green budget that included a carbon tax to ensure every dollar raised eventually gets returned to taxpayers through tax reductions. Finance Minister Carole Taylor said the plan, announced February 19th, was aimed at getting a start on combating climate change . (The escalating carbon tax went into effect on July 1st.)
