Sergeant Jason Boyes of Napanee, Ontario was killed March 18th by an explosive device while on foot patrol in Panjwai district in southern Afghanistan. The commander of the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry battle group described the 32-year-old Boyes as a committed and talented soldier. Lieutenant-Colonel Dave Corbould said Boyes was a born leader who was an invaluable member of his battalion. (Boyes became the 81st Canadian soldier to die in Afghanistan.)
