Preview Clip

BC Solicitor General John Les stepped down March 28th after it was revealed a special prosecutor had been looking into allegations he may have improperly benefitted from a land deal. Les was extremely frustrated and said he had no reason to believe he'd be the subject of an investigation into land transactions when he was mayor of Chilliwack 10 years earlier. Les said police never even contacted him about the investigation, which prompted the appointment of a special prosecutor in June 2007. Les, the Liberal MLA for Chilliwack-Sumas, called the whole situation surreal, adding that the hardest part was the effect on his family.
