A draft report by Health Canada found the chemical bisphenol A was capable of endangering infants and the environment. Ottawa announced April 18th that it would give the public 60 days to comment on the report. Health Minister Tony Clement explained that the government would the ban use of BPA in baby bottles if no new relevant information came forward. (Studies indicated use of the material was safe for products such as CDs, hockey helmets -- and hard plastic water bottles.)
