A Calgary reservist with 15 Field Ambulance died May 6th in southern Afghanistan when his patrol came under fire during an ambush. The head of Calgary's emergency medical services said Corporal Michael Starker was the type of person who would always help those in need. Tom Sampson said Starker was doing what he did best when his patrol was ambushed. (Starker had been a paramedic in Calgary for three years.)
