First Nations groups across the country held their second annual day of action on May 29th. Frankie Cote (coe-tay) of the Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg (ZEE'-bee awhn-ish-NAW'-bay) nation, about 130 kilometers north of Ottawa, wasn't overly optimistic. He said peaceful marches wouldn't be enough to force governments to act on aboriginal issues. (The day of action was aimed at drawing attention to everything from land claims to poverty.)
