Ontario NDP Leader Howard Hampton announced June 14th that he would step down as the party's leader in March 2009. Speaking to delegates at a party meeting in Toronto, Hampton said the New Democrats would have a lot of work to do. (Hampton had been at the helm of Ontario's New Democrats since 1996, when he took over from former premier Bob Rae.)
