The trial of the first man charged under Canada's Anti-Terrorism Act, Momin Khawaja, began June 23rd in Ottawa. The lawyer for the accused terrorist asked the judge to severely limit the testimony of the Crown's key witness. Lawrence Greenspon told the terror trial much of Mohamed Babar's testimony connecting his client to the terror plot wasn't direct evidence. (Khawaja faced seven terrorism-related charges in connection to a plot to bomb several sites in Britain.)
