Canada's lone aircraft maker announced July 15th that it would go ahead with a 3.3 billion-dollar plan to build a new regional jet to compete with Boeing and Airbus. Bombardier said it would assemble the long-range C-Series jet in the Montreal area, which would mean as many as 35-hundred new jobs. Quebec Premier Jean Charest said the C-Series would help consolidate Quebec's position as a leader in the aerospace industry.
