Master Corporal Erin Doyle was killed August 11th when insurgents attacked a remote combat outpost in the Panjwaii district of Kandahar. Battlegroup commander Lieutenant-Colonel Dave Corbould said Doyle was the sort of soldier who "stood out from a crowd." (It was Doyle's third tour in Afghanistan. The native of Kamloops, BC was a member of the 3rd Battalion Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry based in Edmonton.)
