On August 29th, three Canadian soldiers were killed in a bombing in Kandahar province. Sergeant Shawn Eades, Sapper Stephan John Stock and Corporal Dustin Wasden were members of the 12 Field Squadron, 1st Combat Engineer Regiment based in Edmonton. Brigadier-General Denis Thompson said the Taliban was getting more aggressive -- but said it was failing in its effort to undermine the resolve of Canadian troops to help the Afghan people.
