Saskatchewan's corrections minister said jail officials were tipped to the possibility of a escape more than a week before six prisoners busted out. Darryl Hickie said information came to the attention of staff at the Regina Correctional Centre 10 days prior to the August 24th escape. But Hickie said there were no specific details. (The six prisoners, some awaiting trial on serious charges including murder, busted through a brick wall at the jail and breached a security fence. They were all recaptured weeks later.)
