On September 2nd, Steve MacLean was appointed president of the Canadian Space Agency. MacLean was one of the first Canadian astronauts selected in 1983 by the National Research Council of Canada. MacLean said he would build on the Canadian space industry's innovation. (MacLean served aboard the space shuttles Columbia and Atlantis.)
