Prime Minister Stephen Harper announced on November 23rd that Canada was slipping into recession. Harper said an "unprecedented stimulus' was being considered. Harper wouldn't elaborate on what measures the Conservative government might undertake to stimulate the economy. But he said whatever action was taken, he would need to be convinced that it would not lead to a prolonged deficit.
