Vincent Li (LEE), a man who believed he was following God's orders when he stabbed and beheaded a fellow passenger on a Greyhound bus, was found not criminally responsible for his actions. Li had pleaded not guilty to a charge of second-degree murder. A judge ruled March 5th that Li was not criminally responsible for the July, 2008 death of Tim McLean due to mental illness. The slain man's mother, Carol deDelley (duh-DELL'-ee), did not agree with the decision. (Justice John Scurfield said Li's attack on McLean was "grotesque" and "barbaric" but "strongly suggestive of a mental disorder.")
