Bombardier announced April 2nd that it would cut three-thousand jobs in its aerospace division because of decreased demand for its business aircraft. More than one thousand cuts would take place at its Montreal operations. In a conference call with analysts, Bombardier Aerospace president Guy Hachey said the company had no choice but to eliminate jobs in Canada, the US, Mexico and Northern Ireland. (The company had already eliminated almost 14-hundred jobs just two months earlier in response to waning demand for its Learjet and Challenger aircraft.)
