A Canadian soldier was killed June 8th in Afghanistan. Twenty-year-old Private Alexandre Peloquin was on foot patrol in the Panjwaii district of Kandahar when an IED exploded. Canadian Brigadier-General Jonathan Vance, the senior military commander in Kandahar province, praised Peloquin's bravery. (Peloquin was the 119th Canadian soldier to die in the Afghan mission.)
