Two Canadian soldiers, Master Corporal Patrice Audet, 38, of Montreal, a flight engineer, and Corporal Martin Joannette, 25, a gunner from St-Calixte, Quebec, and a British soldier died July 6th in a helicopter crash in Zabul province in Afghanistan. Brigadier-General Jonathan Vance said it was a difficult week for Canadian soldiers in Afghanistan -- with four deaths in four days.
