A 17-year-old girl convicted of first-degree murder in the death of her perceived rival, Stefanie Rengel, was sentenced July 28th in Toronto as an adult. The sentence meant Melissa Todorovic would serve life in prison with no chance of parole for seven years. Rengel's 13-year-old brother, Ian, said the family was relieved by the sentence. Stefanie (Rengel, 14, was killed on New Year's Day 2008 outside her Toronto area home.)
