Fire crews carried out a number of back burns in the hills above Lillooet, BC as they fought wildfires. Roughly 2,300 people were forced from their homes as the fire threatened to engulf the community. Forest Service information officer Garry Horley said residents would have quite a different view when they returned home -- but he said it would be worth it. (BC's forest fire season was especially fierce, forcing the province to raise its forest firefighting budget from 62 million-dollars to more than 400 million.)
