Suaad Hagi Mohamud, a Toronto woman detained in Nairobi, Kenya over an identity dispute for almost three months, arrived back in Toronto August 15th after DNA tests proved she was who she said she was. Mohamud made a beeline for her 12-year-old son and hugged him as about 20 family members, friends and supporters looked on. Mohamud said little to a throng of reporters, other than expressing happiness at being home. (Kenyan authorities wouldn't let Mohamud leave when they said she didn't resemble her passport photo. Canadian officials then voided her passport and it took three months for her to persuade them of her identity.)
