A man who pleaded guilty in a homegrown terrorist plot to wreak havoc against Canadian targets was handed a 14-year sentence September 3rd. Taking into account time already served, 23-year-old Saad Khalid was sent to prison for seven years. His lawyer, Russell Silverstein, said both he and his client were satisfied with the sentence. (Khalid pleaded guilty in May to one count of participating in a terror plot with the intention of causing an explosion.)
