Fred Mills, a trumpeter who played for 24 years with the Canadian Brass, died September 7th in an automobile accident near Atlanta. He was 70. The group's co-founder and tuba player, Charles Daellenbach, described Mills as a consummate artist. (Mills was nominated for a Grammy Award in 1992 before becoming a faculty member at the University of Georgia in 1996.)
