A Supreme Court judge in British Columbia threw out polygamy charges, the first in Canada, against leaders of two rival breakaway Mormon factions in the community of Bountiful. BC Premier Gordon Campbell said he was disappointed with the September 23rd court ruling. (The judge said the government did not have the authority to pursue Winston Blackmore and James Oler.)
