A former diplomat in Afghanistan testified November 18th before a special House of Commons committee that all of the prisoners Canada handed to Afghanistan's notorious intelligence service in 2006 and 2007 were tortured, and many of them were likely innocent. But on November 25th, former defense chief Rick Hillier rejected Richard Colvin's allegations. Under questioning by Liberal MP Ujjal Dosanjh, Hillier said he was fully satisfied that Canadian forces followed domestic and international law in the way they handled Afghan prisoners.
