Stephen Harper arrived in Beijing on December 2nd for his first visit to China since becoming prime minister. Harper was publicly chided the following day at a traditional Chinese welcoming ceremony -- for taking too long to visit the country. The subtle but pointed rebuke came as the prime minister met with his Chinese counterpart, Wen Jiabao in Beijing. Harper did not let the comment slip by without a response. (Harper unveiled his fourth economic stimulus update, an action that opposition parties back home called "bizarre.")
