Dozens of Canadians were trapped in earthquake-ravaged Haiti days after the catastrophe. Canadian Press reporter Jonathan Montpetit was on the ground in Haiti and said many people had taken refuge at Canada's embassy in Port-au-Prince. (Ottawa said 58 Canadians were killed in the January 12th earthquake.)
