A star-studded televised Canadian benefit concert made an appeal for donations to help Haiti earthquake victims. The one-hour commercial-free special aired January 22nd on Canada's three main television networks. Prime Minister Stephen Harper joined a long-list of celebrities in making an appeal for donations. (The special also featured live and pre-recorded pleas for donations from James Cameron, Celine Dion, Michael J. Fox, Rachel McAdams and Nelly Furtado. "Canada For Haiti" raised more than 13.5 million dollars, while a French-language telethon in Quebec raised 6.7 million.)
