The Canadian team that helped ensure Apollo 13 got back to Earth safely 40 years earlier was honored April 13th. Professor Barry French said the University of Toronto team was given four hours to come up with critical calculations that helped save the three astronauts. (The Canadian team had to work out the force needed to separate the crippled service module from the lunar module where the three astronauts were. The Canadian Air and Space Museum honored the surviving team members with a Pioneer award.)
