Preview Clip

Former Conservative MP Rahim Jaffer appeared before a Commons committee looking into his business dealings and accusations of improper lobbying. He said he never lobbied the government on behalf of his company, never used drugs and never used wife Helena Guergis's (hah-LEE'-nah JOR'-jis-iz) parliamentary perks for business. He also apologized for his arrest for drunk driving and possession of cocaine while driving home from a business dinner in September, 2009. (Jaffer was later convicted of careless driving. Guergis had earlier been ousted from cabinet and the Conservative Party caucus amid the swirl of allegations about her husband's business dealings.)
