A laid-off welder from Alberta picked up a lottery jackpot worth nearly 42 million dollars. Cameron Blair of Beaumont, just south of Edmonton, held the single winning ticket in the April 23rd Lotto Max draw. The unmarried 32-year-old said he probably wouldn't have bought it if he hadn't been laid off a few weeks earlier. (It was the second largest lottery jackpot ever won by an individual in Canada -- 41.7 million dollars.)
