Former Ontario attorney general Michael Bryant said he would never forget the encounter that led to the death of Toronto bike courier Darcy Sheppard. Charges against Bryant in the death of the cyclist were withdrawn May 25th, with a special prosecutor saying there was little chance of a conviction. Bryant called the encounter a "terrible tragedy." (Bryant had been charged in August, 2009 with criminal negligence causing death and dangerous driving in Sheppard's death.)
