A 35-year-old soldier from Sudbury, Ontario, died June 6th in Afghanistan. Sergeant Martin Goudreault was killed when an improvised explosive device went off in the Panjwaii district. Brigadier-General Jon Vance said Goudreault was on a foot patrol looking for insurgent weapons when the blast went off. (Goudreault was the 147th member of the Canadian Forces to die as part of the eight-year-old Afghan mission.)
