Canadian contralto Maureen Forrester died June 16th at the age of 79. Canadian tenor Richard Margison was a friend of Forrester's who also shared the stage with her. He said she was a special talent. (The Montreal-born Forrester sang with nearly every major orchestra in North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. She was a member of the Canadian Hall of Fame and the Juno Hall of Fame. Forrester was made a Companion of the Order of Canada and awarded a star on Canada's Walk of Fame.)
