Two pilots were killed July 31st when their air tanker crashed while fighting a fire south of Lytton, BC. On August 2nd, the company that operated the waterbomber identified the two pilots. Conair spokesman Rick Pederson said the co-pilot was 36-year-old Brian Tilley of Edmonton and the captain was 58-year-old Tim Whiting of Langley, BC, who he described as a veteran pilot. (The Transportation Safety Board said it appeared the pilots lost control of the plane.)
